Free Anger Management Help
The term "anger management" is something of a misnomer. For most people, the only way they know to manage their rage is to swallow it, deny it, and repress it. Repressing anger is less than useless; it is dangerous. Anger repressed will show up elsewhere. It may appear as a physical or mental malady such as depression or addiction. Or it may explode into violence or insanity.
The only solution is to learn how to prevent yourself from becoming angry in the first place. It can be very difficult to distinguish between real freedom from anger and denial or repression; many traditional meditation methods only serve to mask anger with an artificial calm. The "Be Still and Know" meditation exercise, however, can teach you how to free yourself from anger by recognizing its root causes.
"Be Still and Know," developed by Roy Masters, asks you not to deny anger entrance to your mind, but to let it in and examine it. After all, anger is nothing except an emotional response to a stimulus. No event, in and of itself, can cause you to become angry. You choose anger, and you can choose not to be angry.
Patience, understanding and forgiveness are the foundations of "Be Still and Know." These qualities are not as difficult to come by as you may think. Download the free guided meditation from the FHU website and listen to it several times a day, with an open and accepting mind. You'll be amazed at how quickly anger loses its power over you.
